Design law
Legal protection of designs
Design law is concerned with the legal protection of external two- or three-dimensional designs. The most important rights are the (German) registered design, the Registered Community Design and the Unregistered Community Design. In addition, there is also protection against imitation under competition law (so-called "supplementary protection under competition law") and copyright protection of designs.
What we do for you
We advise and represent our clients in the field of design law in the following cases
- Design infringements
- Applications for registered Community designs and German registered designs
- invalidity proceedings before the EUIPO and DPMA
- in supplementary protection under competition law (imitation protection under competition law)
- for infringement of copyright-protected designs
- Blocking of Amazon ASINs with designs that are not actually eligible for protection
Years of experience and proven success in Design infringements and design invalidity proceedings
We have years of experience and demonstrable success in design law, especially in preliminary injunction proceedings and design invalidity proceedings.
